Ghostgirl: Lovesick by Tonya Hurley

The third novel in the Ghostgirl series, Tonya Hurley surprises us with another wonderful novel.

Where there's Love, there's life after death.

Charlotte Usher died. All because of a gummy bear. After the trials and tribulations of the afterlife, Dead Ed, and a phone help line, Charlotte and her classmate are sent back to earth for their last mission is they are ever to be allowed to enter heaven. Assigned to her old crush, Scarlett must change his life in some small way. But can Charlotte do this without the temptation sabotaging others lives?

Ghostgirl: Lovesick, is a satirical take on the afterlife, with clashing, yet somehow complementary characters.  With comical dialogue and an engaging plot line, Hurley uses all her talents to make this novel one that I would recommend for girls aged 12-14.

If she survives her training, she will be able to take her place in the Order, holding back the vampires and protecting the oblivious normal people.
But a web of lies and betrayals is still closing around her, just when she thinks she can relax a little. Her mentor Christophe is missing, her almost-boyfriend is acting weird, and the bodyguards she’s been assigned seem to know much more than they should. And then there’s the vampire attacks, the strange nightly visits, and the looks everyone keeps giving her. As if she should know something.
Or as if she’s in danger.
Someone high up in the Order is a traitor. They want Dru dead–but first, they want to know what she remembers of the night her mother died. PERSIMMON POLIDORI IS A FINE YOUNG LADY,

SALTWATER VAMPIRES BY KIRSTY EAGAR

He looked to the sky, praying for rain, a downpour, some sign from the heavens that he should refuse the abomination contained in that flask. But all he saw was the bloated white face of the moon smiling down on him …
And the sky around it was cold and clear and black …
They made their circle of blood. And only the moon witnessed the slaughter that followed.
For Jamie Mackie, summer holidays in the coastal town of Rocky Head mean surfing, making money, and good times at the local music festival. But this year, vampires are on the festival’s line-up … fulfilling a pact made on the wreck of the Batavia, four hundred years ago. If their plans succeed, nobody in Rocky Head will survive to see out the new year.
Saltwater Vampires is a distinctly Australian vampire thriller.

Halo by Alexandra Adornetto

Best selling author Alexandra Adornetto brings us another  treasure in her new novel, Halo.

Ivy, Gabriel and Bethany, three angels who are sent down from heaven to balance the forces of good and evil in the tranquil town of Venus Cove don't expect much to happen on their arrival. But are they wrong, love blossoms, secrets are shared and malignant spirits stir. But can this trio of heavenly messengers save the residents of Venus Cove, as well as themselves?

As soon as I turned the first page of Halo, I was sucked in.  Bewitching, engaging and delightful, Halo is definitely a novel to read.
16-Year-Old Angel Bethany is a baby compared to her peers, inexperienced and naive, Bethany struggles with human emotions and day-to-day situations that most of us think of as normal as breathing.

Adornetto's writing convinces you that you are in the novel itself, creating a true-to-life world that makes it possible to envision the  characters and plot in your mind with ease.

"Halo enchanted me from the very first page." Claudia Gray, #1 best-selling author of Evernight series.

One of my favourite novels, I would recommend Halo to any girl aged 13 - 18.
