Suite Scarlett by Maureen Johnson

Fresh and exciting, Suite Scarlett is a great summer read.

Scarlett Martin, lives in an old, run-down Art Deco Hotel called the Hopwell, situated in New York City. On her fifteenth birthday, Scarlett expects the usual present. A key to a suite that she has to take care of. But what she doesn't expect is that, on that same day, she gets a permanent guest. Mysterious, abrupt and brewing secret plans, Scarlett's new guest takes her down a path that she would never have expected...

I really enjoyed Suite Scarlett, the characters were interesting, lighthearted, and didn't have a terminal disease or a star crossed lover.

Suite Scarlett is exactly that, sweet. Cute, charming, but at times predictable, you'll find yourself following along with Scarlett, but sometimes frustrated at her and other characters.

Set in New York, Suite Scarlett is a fluffy, fun read that is great for you if you like authors Kody Keplinger, Meg Cabot or books Where I Belong by Gwendolen Heasley and Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn.

An agreeable example of contemporary fiction for Young Adults, I would recommend this book to teenage girls aged 13-16.

i really loved that book as summer reading for lasy year. breazy and easy, yet interesting. i found it quite different to other books, the newyork and acting settings really grabbed me. i also was delighted that it wasn't predictable or shallow like a lot of easier books.
