I don't know about you, but I love the look of these books! Vol 1

These books look absolutely entrancing, and I cannot wait to read them!

I am number four by Pittacus Lore
Nine teenagers and their guardians are hiding on Earth … protected by a charm that means they can only be killed in numeric order, three are already dead. John Smith is Number Four. And his mortal enemies, the Mogadorian, are hunting him down.

The only way to keep off radar is to keep moving, never staying in one place for long. Finally in the firing line, all he can do is adopt the guise of a student and pray his unusual gifts – his legacies home; Planet Lorien – stay hidden long enough for him to settle into this new community.

But others seem to sense his otherness and when small-town life sucks him into its intrigues, it’s only a matter of time before his true nature is revealed. And that means there’s no space for love, friendship or a future if it means protecting not only himself, but the other five …

Reminiscent of Smallville and Heroes, here finally is a thriller with awesome pace, mindblowing special effects and a breathtaking high concept. It demands to be read in one sitting.

Impossible by Nancy Werlin
A beautifully wrought modern fairy tale from master storyteller and award-winning American author Nancy Werlin.

Lucy is seventeen when she discovers that she is the latest recipient of a generations-old family curse that requires her to complete three seemingly impossible tasks or risk falling into madness and passing the curse on to the next generation. Unlike her ancestors, though, Lucy has family, friends and love. Is it enough to keep her safe?

Time Riders by Alex Scarrow

Liam O’Connor should have died at sea in 1912.
Maddy Carter should have died on a plane in 2010.
Sal Vikram should have died in a fire in 2029.
Yet moments before death, someone mysteriously
appeared and said, ‘Take my hand . . .’

But Liam, Maddy and Sal aren’t rescued. They are recruited by an agency that no one knows exists, with only one purpose – to fix broken history. Because time travel is here, and there are those who would go back in time and change the past.

That’s why the TimeRiders exist: to protect us. To stop time travel from destroying the world.

The Eternal Ones by Kirsten Miller

An epic and thrilling romance set in the snake-handling churches of Appalachia, the dusty ruins of ancient Rome, and the grand mansions of Manhattan. The Eternal Ones tells the story of the first battle in a war between undying love and eternal evil.
Haven Moore has always known she's different: there are the talents that can't be explained; the knowledge of places she's never been; and then there are the visions that overwhelm her – terrifying visions of a life that ended tragically two decades earlier and more than a thousand miles away in New York City. The citizens of Haven's rural, highly religious community, believe that she's been possessed by a demon.
But this is no demon: it's reincarnation.

Monster Republic by Ben Horton

An explosion in a nuclear power plant.
Kids patched up with scavenged body parts and bionic implants.
A growing army of superhuman soldiers programmed for destruction.

I recommend this book for boys aged 11-14.
The First novel in the Divinity Project series, this new book by Ben Horton is a 'power paced' story about accepting differences, finding out who you can really trust and the right thing to do.

This novel grips you and pulls you into the world of  Cameron, who has to deal with his life now that he has been changed into a monster. Can he help his new friends and save the Monster Republic?

This book is great for a reluctant reader, it moves fast and has an original plot that is told with fluency and clarity.

Monster Republic is a must read!

Dreaming of Amelia by Jaclyn Moriarty

When scholarship students Amelia and Riley come to the distinguished Ashbury high, all the students are captivated by the puzzling mystique and talent of the distant couple.
Everyone wants to know everything about them, and everybody has their different opinions on where Amelia and Riley came from.
But what they don't know is that their past is one that they want to be forgotten...

Written in the form of meeting transcripts, HSC Exams on the re-count of their terms, and blog posts, Dreaming of Amelia keeps you spellbound until the last page.

I recommend this book for girls aged 12-15, it is a brilliantly told story that captivates your mind and keeps you guessing on what is going to happen.
Each of the students are tested on what they believe in, the supernatural and friendship. Are Amelia and Riley ghosts, or is it somebody else in their midst. With twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages, Dreaming of Amelia is one to buy today!
